The adventure of the day was a cousin's wedding in small town Pennsylvania. Hollidaysburg to be exact, but Altoona would get you close enough on a map. The wedding was great, with some key words spoken about the struggle of making a marriage work and the importance of staying together. So few people talk about that anymore, and i thought it was pretty good. We danced to some terrible DJ music and laughed with cousins, aunts and uncles.
Time with family is precious these days and we head back to colorful Colorado tomorrow morning. It's a long drive but, on our way home, we will stop in Missouri to stay with a friend before completing the crazy 24 hour journey home.
We should arrive in Colorado in time to see Jenn & Elyse, who are visiting from Texas. We haven't seen them since Christmas, and i have this dilemma going in my heart. In fact, my cousin Katie and i were talking about it tonight. How do we live these crazy fun adventures, travel overseas, and stay close to family? I do not have the answer. If i live in Colorado, i never see my immediate family that lives out of state or overseas. If i lived in PA, I'd never see my siblings. If i live in Africa, i get crazy lonely. If i live in Seattle, I'm guessing, friends become more like family, and, hopefully one or two people will come to visit me....
So, we will cut our time short in Pennsylvania, so that we can squeeze one more thing into our long weekend, and hopefully get a few precious moments with our sister in law and niece.
I'm thankful for the day with family and a beautiful wedding. I'm sorry that our day is over and we leave in the morning. I loved our stop at the The Meadows, and had fun dancing with Brody. I would love to travel to Paris with Bart and appreciate that Debbie and Phyllis are crazy fun. Time with Ray and Tom always makes me miss my dad.
