We had an AMAZING time seeing Cape Town and it's surroundings.
a land of contrasts and contradictions. deep history and beautiful buildings and people. also deep, generational poverty including racism xenophobia.
i loved being there with J. Loved it.
We enjoyed ourselves immensely and were really challenged to see the struggles that this country still faces to overcome.
I'm a little sad to be back to the grind in the states. i care about the poor and i care about Africa. this trip reminded me of that. and to return to writing papers and making lattes...sigh....it's just not the same.
