some smaller moments from recently.
-I was out watering my flowers this morning, and it was a little cold! i noticed one or two people run by with number bibs on. ??? a race went right in front of my house this morning! one woman came over and asked if she could use some of my water to wash off her shorts and legs as she had an accident waiting in line for the bathroom. oh no! she was sweet and embarrassed. she helped fertilize my flowers! =) the whole thing makes me think of my runner friends. merrell, megan and jamelyn. plenty of others. love to you.
-don't forget how delicious bulls eyes are for breakfast! yum.
-J and i went in yesterday to try to upgrade and combine our phone plans. we didn't have enough time, plus the lady was not very helpful, and in fact rude. sigh. i jumped into getting a phone with extra Internet and whatever, and almost immediately had buyers regret. i need to return the phone. phone plans these days are not simple, and not worth paying $100 a month. i just don't need all that junk at my fingertips 24/7. the internal wrestle: how to stay connected and how to keep life simple? one move towards simplicity: returning a brand new phone.
-the urge to shop: i have been really wanting to go blow some money recently. to get fun things like tulip bulbs for the fall and spring, gardening supplies for our yard, house stuff like shelves, a fan, picture frames and organization tubs.
-we have been frustrated this week about the groups considering Koran burning and my husband has been in conversation with some local pastors and imams about trying to do something positive together. We prayed last night for wisdom, peace and hearts like Jesus'. Next week i think there is going to be a dinner. i'm proud of my man. real proud.
-most of my house plants have not so suddenly turned a lot brown. sigh. one of them even went so far as to loose all of its leaves. i'm telling myself we are still adjusting to the move, right?
-we bought a new game, one we learned in South Africa. It's called Pandemic and its a strategy game a little like Settlers. except you have to all work together to save the world from spreading epidemics. It's not easy, but i'm excited about it and looking for friends to have over to get better at it.
-my car is on the fritz. it could be that i ran it low on radiator fluid, or maybe it's just the battery, but i'm worried that it's the alternator. i had to have the alternator replaced....probably 5 years ago, and i wonder if its time again. plus, my passenger side sun visor thing broke this summer and i have to take it down every time i drive and put it back up every time i want to put up my windshield sun block thing. i hate this stuff.
-while i was working the drive thru at work this week, a woman tried to recruit me to work for her thru Arbonne. more than anything, it wasn't the appropriate time or place, and i was annoyed. crazy stuff happens all the time at work and i try to have a real calm presence about it, but this put me over the edge. my job was to get her money, give her a drink and get them moving along-this is the point of a drive thru. but she wanted to ask me all kinds of questions and give me her business card and tell me she works from home...blah blah blah. plus, she was in her sweats. i wasn't tempted at all to give her a call.
-i'm off to a baby shower for a friend i've known since second grade. crazy. i'm always amazed at the beauty of a pregnant woman and the miracle of life.

Ooh, Jason and I would love to come learn Pandemic! We're a little Settlers obsessed.
