So, sometimes i'm a runner. sometimes.
i like to be a runner in the summer, when it's warm out. i like to be a runner when i have the time to sleep decent hours and then get up to start my day with the sunshine. i like being a runner without headphones, because it is really good time for my head and heart to just absorb the outdoors. i like being a runner when i have partners to run with for conversation and steady pacing. i like being a runner when i can tell that my muscles are content to be used and stretched. i like being a runner that wears fun socks. i also like running for its simplicity. all i need is a pair of shoes. no swim cap, no goggles, no gym membership required.
i'm getting back to it.
i just struggle in the cold, in the dark, to get out there.
but, it's the winter. and i'm treading the paths.
the goal: booty-licious-ness for my upcoming wedding. the goal: health to last my lifetime. the goal: to lose some weight and feel better about myself. the goal: improve my mental health.
J and i have spent some time talking about having good health as a way to invest in our future. we hope to be together forever....and good health helps. =) running is an investment for J too.
don't get me wrong, i'm starting very slow. but, to get my feet moving beneath me, to get out into the sunshine, it is good for my soul as well as my body.
i'm house sitting, and the little dogs that love to cuddle at nighttime were a little unsure about running. we took it slow. we walked, ran, walked, ran. i think it went pretty well. i'm thankful for the "job" of taking them out on a walk, and i'm thankful that it gets me outside too.
so, i'm running. running into the sunshine, running for my health. i'm running for head and heart. i'm running for my marriage and for my soon to be husband. i'm running for me.

I hear you... I'm on day 7 of running... ugh... I wish it were easier, less straining, less boring, and well, not so laborious. I'll hang in there if you do. :-)
I'm going to try to talk my neighbor into beginning running again next month. Until then Wii Fit is kicking my butt!
I absolutely don't have the drive to run unless I can talk while I do it.
Way to go!
