Ode-noun. a lyric poem typically of elaborate or irregular metrical form and expressive of exalted or enthusiastic emotion.
Remember crazy fun Mary Patricoff?!
I stopped by CCU today, to try to find the registrar's office, or wherever it is that you can get transcripts. And, since i graduated just a couple of moons ago, i knew they had shuffled offices around campus. I started my search in the small house labeled Student Life. And, there at her desk, in the same place i probably saw her 6 years ago, sat Mary. Smiling, energetic and helpful. I first became friends with Mary my last year at CCU, on my brief, but regular visits to her office to schedule counseling appointments. And i love that woman still.
Jim McCormick-with his wonderful police/pilot glasses, still seems to be the dean, and has the same, also wonderful, hairdo.
Then wanders in so-and-so, who is marrying so-and so, who used to live in Peru. Oh yes, nice to meet you, i knew your fiance back when blah blah blah.
Can you believe that so-and-so married so-and-so, who said he was going to be celibate his whole life?! Yes, i recently saw his wife.
Did you visit chapel this morning when so-and-so was sharing about India? Nope, I guess i missed it.
Where are you up to these days? I'm working for so-and-so and applying for grad school at so-and-so.
Oh, have you heard that Nettie has two kids now?!?
Tammy too!
I mostly keep up with the two crazy blind skiers who have moved to Seattle.
and RA 1 who married RA 2 and are well on their way to the desirous six kids.
and the China kids who used to be baristas like me.
Or BH who married his Mexican sweetheart and couldn't be happier.
And now I'm friends with all the cool girls who still go to Hillside.
and am always envious when the Bolts leave the country.
But I miss Riverman, Melshion and even Sybesma, who i never get enough of.
Have you heard about all the CCU babies that are going to be born in 2008?!?!
Campus is the same. Different but the same.
Oh CCU.
I wanted to simply call it an ode to CCU, and then i didn't really remember what an ode is. so i looked it up....and this isn't really an ode. but perhaps, a ballad, or composition.

Tim and I did some recruiting for staff at CCU last week. I am agreeing with all you said. It was bitter sweet. :)
Claire happened on your blog after checking on Merrell's. I agree about Mary being great and Jim not changing. Read your most recent blog. You are in my prayers.
