anger

When an evangelical Christian is afraid of the truth, it may be because he has equated some particular formulation with final truth. Therefore, when he sees some newly apprehended scientific truth, some breakthrough into wider knowledge as a threat to the system to which he is committed, he may react in fear and sometimes even in anger. But as Plato said, “No man should be angry at what is true.” And, we may add, the reason is plain; for to be angry at what is true is to be angry at God, for he is the God of truth.    ~Frank Gaebelein
My professor of integration (of counseling and theology) shared this quote with us.

I'm struck by the Plato comment: so many of us get angry at truth.

me too, i get angry about funky things.

so, i gotta pay attention to my anger. cause maybe i am mad about something that is true, or just something i thought was true.
