Sometimes I need to refresh verses or truths from my childhood to bring meaning into things that have long been just words to memorize. Studying Matthew has given me some opportunities to rewrite some passages for myself.
Protected are the brokenhearted and discouraged for they will receive the blessings of heaven.
Blessed are those who feel and express their sorrow for they will be comforted.
Consecrated are the humbly patient and submissive for they will inherit everything that can't be bought.
Made holy are those who want justice and desire goodness, for they will be filled.
Glorified are the compassionate and forgiving, for they will be shown kindness.
Favored are the straightforward and uncontaminated for they will see God.
Entrusted are the lovers of unity and reconcilers for they will truly know their place in God's family.
Refined are those who are persistently harassed and oppressed because of their obedience, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
